SIFST Student Party was held at Tessensohn Clubhouse on 14 January 2006. The participants comprised students from Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and National University of Singapore as well as some SIFST council members and a visiting Professor from Indonesia, forming a crowd of 77 participants.
The program consisted of an exciting afternoon of high-tea, games and a lucky draw. We played "Find it! and Win, Lose or Draw". The adrenaline was running high for the games. In "Find it!", students were asked to work with the others at their table to find certain items (balloons, sling bags, etc.) as quickly as possible. They rushed to gather the items and ran to the host for a hard earned point! We witnessed a mass of students being so swift (not to mention, slightly violent!) after an afternoon meal. The prize for the winning table was a food hamper.
In "Win, Lose or Draw", volunteers were asked to draw items related to Food and the audience had to guess the item. It got rather hilarious when some of the volunteers turned to abstract art in the hopes for somebody interpreting their drawings correctly. Eventually, someone would come up with wild guesses that turned out to be right and was rewarded with a gift of candies.
The most anticipated activity was the lucky draw with the giving away of attractive prizes. Some of the prizes were Nalgene bottles, HMV vouchers, Prints stationery, a Swatch watch, etc. The first prize was a Panasonic MP3 player which has thrilled its winner into momentary shock.
At the end of the day, the participants left with either a prize in their hands, a smile on their face or both!
