SIFST Food Product Awards 2005,
2 Aug 2005, 7 pm at Furama Riverfront Hotel. Events: Presentation of Food Product Awards, HACCP Registered Consultants Certificates, Student Symposium Winners Certificates and investiture of Fellows & Hon. Fellow.

SIFST Annual Dinner 2005
A total of 86 participants attended the SIFST Annual dinner held on 11th March 2005 at the Trader's Hotel Singapore. The dinner kicked off with light entertainment by professional singers and students from the Singapore Polytechnic. Participants also enjoyed renditions of oldies by some members, including the President & Honorary Treasurer. The event was a resounding success under the able chairmanship of the Vice-President, Mrs Ser-Low Wai Ming, and Emcee Ms Jasmine Leong.

SIFST 27th Annual Dinner
The Annual Dinner was attended by 86 participants. The event comprised of an 8-course Chinese dinner for 9 tables with 12 bottles of wine and entertainment by a singer-entertainer from Concept Alliance Asia. Other highlights of the night included the presentation of certificates for SIFST Food Product Award winners, SIFST Award (for Best Student) for SP, TP & NUS and new memberships and a Lucky Draw for which 25 prizes were given away.

Annual report was presented. New council members for the next fiscal year were elected during the AGM. The AGM ended with a buffet dinner.

Annual dinner was held concurrently with the conference dinner organised for the International Conference on Genetically Modified Foods.

International Conference on Genetically Modified Foods – “Prospects, Challenges & Safety”,

Latest research developments on genetically modified foods were presented. The conference also covers a session on the basic of genetically modified foods and ethical issues. A public forum at the end of the conference attracted many from the food industries who sought more understanding on the topic.
